WELCOME TO FIKA FRIDAY!

We are a home based microbakery who bake on the last Friday & Saturday of the month as treats to share with friends (although enemies, strangers, colleagues or family would work well too!!) 


Fika is a beautiful cultural concept first founded in Sweden - gathering a few others around a good cuppa and something tasty to eat, while enjoying meaningful conversation.   Each of our boxes of buns or sourdough loaf come with a choice of conversation cards for you to gather around.

We are an intentionally small social business, that keeps their bake runs little
and keeps their product list small - we currently bake
Swedish cinnamon buns & simple sourdough.


Our heart is to encourage and inspire great conversations while eating something tasty - bringing a culture of fika right here to the Golden City of Dreams (aka Carlisle!)

Cinnamon Buns

Introducing our signature product: Swedish cinnamon buns infused with a touch of cardamom.

We bake these delightful treats on the last Friday of every month to foster connection and community.

Many local businesses already enjoy these buns during their coffee breaks, using our conversation cards to enhance team bonding.

While we offer our Friday boxes exclusively on a subscription basis, we also provide a limited number of taster boxes each month for those who want to try before you commit to a subscription.

Introducing Sourdough Saturday

We're starting to produce a

small batch of

900g white sourdough loaves

on the last Saturday of the month.  
 

This is a collection only service

from our microbakery

in Denton Holme between 9-11am.

Our sourdough contains Carrs flour, water and salt to get all that good stuff in your gut!  An awesome alternative to over processed shop bought bread.

We've priced each loaf at £3 and have a very limited bake run.

We also offer our Swedish cinnamon buns for collection alongside your bread!

DO YOU OFFER GLUTEN AND DAIRY FREE ITEMS?

Currently our buns contain both gluten and dairy in them - we've listed our ingredients below.

HOW DO I KEEP MY PURCHASES FRESH?

Our buns are best eaten on the day of purchase and are freshly made each Friday morning…they may even arrive to you still slightly warm!  You can gently warm them in the oven if you'd like and we find they do even taste great heated the next day!

Our bread keeps well if you keep it in an airtight environment for a couple of days - however, we've found from customer feedback that it doesn't last long before being devoured!!  Toasted it's wonderful too.

WHAT IS FIKA?

Fika is a Swedish concept that’s all about gathering with a few others over coffee and a delicious baked item.  In many work places in Sweden, fika time is an integral part of the working day.  Pausing to enjoy a break together.  Good conversation is essential to our well-being and our conversation cards can help fuel a fika moment wherever you choose to share your box!  

I’M NOT IN THE POSTCODES YOU DELIVER TO - CAN I COLLECT?

As a new start up we’re starting with CA1, CA2 & CA3, CA4 & CA5 for delivery on Friday mornings only.  You can collect the boxes with our Sourdough Saturday bake runs on the last Saturday of the month.

ANY WAY I SHOULD EAT THE BUNS?

They are ideal with a hot drink like coffee or tea, but we’d love to hear how you like to enjoy yours!  Many of us are familiar with cinnamon rolls and although not completely different, our kannelbullar (cardamom buns) are a slightly different texture, some would say feel a little lighter to eat…although our words can’t fully describe them…order some to experience them for yourself! 

WHATS THE INGREDIENTS?

Our Fika buns contain (allergens in bold):Flour (Wheat), Sugar, Whole milk, butter (milk), free range Eggs, cardamom & cinnamon.

Our sourdough bread contain (allergens in bold):  Flour (Wheat), Honey, Salt & Water - we don't add any yeast to our sourdough bread, allowing the starter to shine and work its wonders!!
